Betty Risner
Of Munith, Michigan

Age 62 passed away June 16, 2005 at her home. She was born July 9, 1942 in
Manchester, Michigan the daughter of Randolf “Doc” and Alma (Houston) Allen.
She enjoyed going to garage sales; playing cards; collecting wind chimes, dolls,
knickknacks, angels and loved spending time with her grandchildren. On December 27, 1961 she married Jimmy Risner and he survives. She is also survived by her children
Jamie D. (Cindy) Risner of Parma, MI.; Kim D. (Tony) Medina of Munith, MI.; Jason P.
Risner of Munith and Tabitha L. (Charlie) Crockett of Munith, MI. Three brothers, Garland (Helen) Allen of Stockbridge; Don Allen of Stockbridge; Danny Allen of Jackson and one sister, Thersea J. Allen of Munith, MI. Twelve grandchildren; Micheal,
Claude, Jamie, Kristen, Jesse, Toby, Shelby, Hunter, Loagan, Taylor, Mya Paige and
Courtney. Also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters,
Garnie Mae Stapleton and Ann Fletcher; and a brother, Michael Allen. Visitation will
be held Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the Good Shepherd Mission Church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Parson Billy Allen officiating. Burial will follow at the Munith Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family. Arrangements made by Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home.
Clyde Howard
Of Stockbridge, Mi.

Age 83, passed away Friday June 3, 2005 at the Chelsea Community Hospital.
He was born on February 22, 1922 in Bradley, Kentucky the son of Wick and Elsie (Minix) Howard. Clyde had lived in the area since 1940 and loved hunting. He worked for Federal Screw in Chelsea for 30 plus years. Surviving is 1 daughter Holly (Mark) Grenier of Stockbridge. 1 grandson Aaron Grenier, brothers and sisters, Rella Fetterly of Salyersville, KY, Madeline (Walter) Ottoman of Chelsea, Calvin (Ruby) Howard of Eaton Rapids, Mareda O’Brien of East Lansing, Beth Nawrock, Mary (James) Fletcher , Larry (Barbara) Howard , Linda (JR) Clark all of Stockbridge and Judy (Dale) Leach of Horton. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth T. Howard 1 sister, Ann Siegler and his nephew, Kevin Clark. Funeral services will be Monday June 6, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge with Pastor Jeff Howard Officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Family Tabernacle Church of God in Gregory. The family will receive friend at the funeral home Saturday from 7-9 P.M. and Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M.
Shirley A. Dawson
of Waterloo Twp.

Age 69 died at the Chelsea community hospital on June 3, 2005 after battling an illness for six years. She was born on August 23, 1935 to Jesse C. and Bernice (Thayer) Brayton in Flint Michigan. Shirley had lived in Waterloo Twp. for the past 49 years and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1955. She was very supportive of the rural characteristics of her home and the surrounding area especially the farming community. Shirley loved to paint, draw and read. She was an avid fan of Detroit professional sports especially the Red Wings. She loved being outdoors with her two dogs Moe and Baber but most of all, she loved her grand children. She is survived by her children; David A. (Flora) Dawson of Las Vegas, NV, Rebecca A. Dawson of Munith, Elizabeth F. Dawson of Waterloo Twp. and Carol L. Dawson of Waterloo Twp. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Nathanial D. Dawson, Trevor A. Dawson, Jesse M. Dawson-Boutell, and Lauren Brayton Dawson. Shirley was proud of her family and very proud of her son’s service to his country in both Gulf Wars. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jerry R. Brayton. Funeral services will be Monday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the Staffan-Mitchell funeral home with Rev. Beth Foster officiating, burial will follow at Oak Grove East cemetery in Chelsea. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
