Toby O. Medina

Age 19 passed away at Foote Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. He was born the son of Tony D. and Kim (Risner) Medina on August 31, 1987 In Chelsea, Michigan. Toby was a hard worker and worked for anything he wanted or needed. His family noted he was a very giving person that never met a stranger, he was very outgoing, always smiled, and loved his family. Toby is survived by his mother and father Tony and Kim Medina of Stockbridge; brother Jesse D. Medina of Stockbridge; grandparents Oscar Medina, Ruthie Medina and Jimmy Risner. Also surviving is his special nephew Blake Lee, son of Jesse and Trena Shepherd along with many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Toby was preceded in death by his grandmother Betty Risner. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Mission with Parson Billy Allen officiating. Age 38 passed away at his home on April 16, 2007. He was born on March 20, 1969 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ronald loved music of all kinds especially vinyl records and albums, he loved all his family and they loved him. Surviving is his mother Rose M. (Dave) Haas of Jackson, grandmother Georgia Mae Wilson of Unadilla, sister Bonnie Wilson of Unadilla and brother Prince Wilson of Unadilla. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles Millie (Don) Martin of Grass Lake, Dave (Donna) Wilson of Gregory, Paul Wilson of Unadilla, John Wilson of Unadilla, Nellie Wilson of Unadilla; cousins Aaron Martin of Puerto Rico, Mike and Johnny; nephews Brandon and Ryan and his favorite baby Devin. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Clyde Wilson A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Staffan-Mitchell funeral home with Bradley Bourne officiating. Age 42, died Saturday, April 21, 2007 . He was born June 27, 1964. Surviving is, one son Kyle R. Siedhoff of Chelsea, Kyle’s mother Debbie Schantz Siedhoff of Chelsea, one brother Roy (Joanne) Siedhoff of FL, and one sister Tammy La Fountain of Jackson, several nieces and nephews. Age 71 passed away at home on April 18, 2007. She was born the daughter of Joe and Frances (Szalatyski) Grusecki on March 1, 1936 in Hamtramck, Michigan. On January 23, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan she married Gerald Cudejko and he survives. Monica enjoyed playing bingo, fishing for walleye on Lake St. Clair, crocheting, shopping and playing cards with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Donald Cudejko of Manchester, Debra Bezesky of Manchester, Doreen (Walker) Smith of Brighton, Donna (John) Visger of Manchester, and Sandra (Joseph) Hockey of Pinckney. She was preceded in death by her father and stepfather. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church on Saturday, April, 21 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. William J. Turner. Harold L. ’Hal’Pennington

Age 74, passed away Thursday April 19, 2007 at the Chelsea
Retirement Community. He was born on April 16, 1933 in Macon, Michigan the son of Lewis and Anna (Birch) Pennington. Mr. Pennington was the first Chelsea Hospital Administrator, a Member of Chelsea Village Council and Mayor of Chelsea in 1969, a member of Inverness Country Club and former board member, member of St. Mary and received his fourth degree of Knighthood with the Knights of Columbus. A veteran of the United States Army. He worked for DANA Corporation and became the personnel director of operations. He then was employed with Rycon Corporation becoming the purchasing manager. Hal loved to play golf, bowl and watch college and high school football. He enjoyed his annual visit to Las Vegas with the guy’s but the love of his life was his loving wife Margaret ’Peg’ to whom he was married on June 25, 1955 and she survives. Also surviving are their children, Mark , Julia , Steve , Meg ,Timothy and Daniel (Carolin) Pennington, one sister, Barbara Walker of Jackson, ten grandchildren, Gino, Robert, Laura, Ryan, Jacob, Eleanor, Maryryan, Nicolas, Henry and James. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. In 1985 Mr. Pennington was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and fought a courageous battle for many years. Bertrand O. Lightfoot

Age 84, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at his home. He was born on November 22, 1922 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Charles B. and Clara A. (Krause) Lightfoot. Mr. Lightfoot served his country in the United States Army during World War II before marrying Anne C. Adamson on September 23, 1949 and she preceded him in death in 1998. He and his wife had lived in the Chelsea area since 1989 coming from Livonia. For over twenty-five years, he was a purchasing agent for a steel manufacturing company in Detroit. He expressed his creativity through his beautiful stained glass work which he loved to give as gifts to family and friends. He was a member of the Eureka North Warren Masonic Lodge No. 594 F. & A.M. and volunteered at the Chelsea Retirement Community in the ice cream parlor for many years. Surviving are one daughter, Diane C. (Robert) Daniel of Chelsea, two grandsons, Adam and Jared Daniel, and several nieces and nephews. Bert was particularly proud of his grandsons and enjoyed being a part of their lives. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald Lightfoot. The family will receive family and friends at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Friday, April 20, 2007 from 6-8 PM. Age 46, passed away Monday April 16, 2007 in Dunn, North Carolina . He was born on May 14, 1960 in Waukesha, Wisconsin the son of James and Patricia (Neumeyer) Stirling Sr. Jim graduated from Chelsea High School in 1978 and worked for Edwards Brothers Inc. as a Regional Sales Manager for nearly 20 years. He enjoyed golfing, reading and playing hockey. He was a member of the Polo Fields and belonged to St. Paul ’s United Church of Christ in Chicago . On September 19, 1987 he married Rebecca A. Klees and she survives. Also surviving are his parents of Ada , MI; three daughters, Katie age 16, Anna age 13, and Jordan age 12; brother and sisters, Jeff (Kristen) Stirling of Dexter, Mardy Stirling (Brett Green) of Livonia, Carol (David) Kiel of Benton Harbor and Cynthia (John) Finzel of Commerce Twp., MI; Aunt Roberta and Uncle David Ewbank of Ohio , and several nieces and nephews. Age 72, passed away Sunday April 15, 2007 at her home. She was born on June 18, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Rolland and Bernice (Langusch) Dittmer. Beverly had lived in the Chelsea area since 1970. She enjoyed doll making, sewing and all kinds of crafts. Beverly had A very generous heart, always thinking of others and showed it by her actions. Love of her family was paramount to Beverly. Surviving are two children, Kirk (Ardella) Hawks of Bellvue, CO. and Karen (Jerry) Musgrave of Ypsilanti. The children’s father is Dr. William N. Hawks of Chelsea. Also surviving is her brother, Rolland (Marlene) Dittmer of Pinckney. Beverly had four grandchildren, Miranda, Jason, Jordan, Calvin and three nieces and nephews; Craig Dittmer, Kevin Dittmer, and Susan Singleton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea with Pastor Kurt Hutchens officiating. Age 77 passed away at the Country Creek care facility on April 15, 2007. She was born the daughter of Ethan and Ada (Craft) Allen on November 5, 1929 in Middletown, Ohio. On June 10, 1950 she married Richard Heinz and he preceded her in death in 2000. Irene enjoyed going to garage sales, watching her soaps, cooking and going out to eat. Most of all she enjoyed her family. Irene is survived by her children, Judy Heinz of Leslie, Raymond (Teresa) Heinz of Webberville, Sharon Lewis of Leslie, Helen Heinz of Stockbridge, Larry Heinz of Leslie and Susan (Mike) Hill of Gregory. Also surviving are her brother and sisters, Jack Allen, Joyce Allen, Thelma Bailey; sister-in-law Delores Allen, Lee Ann Allen, brother-in-law Blaine Armour and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents Irene was preceded in death by Richard Heinz Sr., Richard Heinz Jr., Paul G. Allen, Ira Allen, Maxine Allen, Juanita Evans, Ruth Armour as well as two infant siblings. Funeral services will be Thursday at the Caskey-Mitchell funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert J. Jack had lived in the area all of hislife. He was a veteran of the United States Army Serving from January of1953 to January of 1955. He worked for Michigan Consolidated Gas Companyfor 36 years retiring in 1993.
