Leroy H. Wing

Age 85 passed away June 6, 2007. He was born the son of Harold and Pauline J. (Finkbeiner) Wing on December 27, 1921 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has lived on the farm since then. On October 8, 1949 he married Barbara Bradbury and she survives. Leroy was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church, the Pittsfield Grange and the Washtenaw County Farm Bureau. He loved to talk, even to people he did not know, he enjoyed deer hunting, and also watching them from his house. Most of all he loved his family, the Wing reunion parties and their sesquicentennial farm the family started as one of the pioneering families of Washtenaw County. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Sharon L. (James) Wheeler of Pinckney, Diane M. (Ron Holguin) Wing of San Pedro, CA, Kurt (Louann) Wing of Dexter, and Kevin (Stacey) Wing of Ann Arbor. Also surviving are his grandchildren Ben (Rebecca) Wheeler, Sara Wheeler, Beth Ann (Mike) Fowler, Patrick, Kayla, Brandon, Nathaniel and Hannah Wing; his great grandchildren Grady Wheeler and Whitley Fowler, along with his brother-in-law Rufus Coffey. Leroy was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Coffey. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dexter United Methodist Church with Dr. Matthew J. Hook and the Rev. Stephen Bringardner co-officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Dexter United Methodist Church. The Family will receive friends at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea, MI on Thursday from 6-8 p.m., Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and also at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
