Norma J. McCann

Age 77, passed away Sunday August 27, 2006 at Sparrow Hospital. She was born on June 17, 1929 in Stockbridge, Michigan the daughter of Erwin and Bernita (Beaman) Nott. She was a 50 plus year member of Ss Cornelius and Cyprian Catholic Church and 25 year 4-H leader. On July 1, 1946 she married James J. McCann and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1999. Surviving are, one son Dennis (Tina) McCann two daughters, Linda (Terry) Ream and Karen (Jim) Norris all of Leslie. Also survivng are seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; inaddition two brothers Robert Nott of Munith, Rick (Jan) Nott of Gregory, and one sister-in-law Ruth Nott. She was also preceded in death by one brother Richard Nott and her parents. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 11:00 AM. From Ss Cornelius and Cyprian Catholic Church with Rev. Father Michael Petroski presiding. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Ss Cornelius and Cyprian Catholic Church or American Cancer Association. Of Stockbridge, MI

Age 89, passed away Friday August 18, 2006 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. She was born on August 5, 1917 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky the daughter of Tipton and Susan (Turner) Collins. She had lived in the area since 1958 coming from Louisville, KY. Favorite pastimes were Reading and her grandchildren. Surviving are six children, Scotty (Cindy) Collins of Florida, Norma (David) Hanson of Mason, Linda (Gary) Baldwin of Stockbridge, Tresia Thurman of Litchfield, Ronald Wright of Florida, and Michael Steven Wright of Jackson. also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Wright in 1988 two sisters and one brother. Funeral will be Tuesday August 22, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge with Rev. Robert Castle officiating. Burial will follow at Munith Cemetery. Buck Elam Hicks
Of Munith

Passed away August 17, 2006 at home, at the age of 71, due to a 17 year fight with Parkinson’s. He was preceded in death by his father William Hicks and mother Elsie (Hale) Hicks, two brothers, Jesse and Jackey and one sister, Gracie. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rita, his daughters, Gail (Jim) Wright of Munith, Tina (Patrick) Clifford of Clinton Twp., his sons, William (Janet) Hicks of Munith, Thomas Hicks of Munith, Michael (Lisa) Hicks of Pleasant Lake, 12 grandchildren, James III & Megan Wright, Ashley, Amber & Andrea Clifford, William Jr., Anthony (Tony), Jamie, Crystal & Joey Hicks, Ashley & Leah Hicks, and one great-granddaughter Katelynn. He is also survived by his 5 brothers Kenneth, Walter, Rheuben, Estill and Clark. He was a dedicated employee of Goodyear for 30 years. He was a much loved husband, fathers, grandfather, great- grandfather and brother, and he will be greatly missed by all. May God hold him in His loving hands to love and protect him until we are reunited in heaven. Viewings will be held for family and friends at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge on Sat. from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Sun 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Robert Castle officiating. Age 88, passed away Thursday evening August 17, 2006 at her daughter’s home. She was born on February 7, 1918 in Iosco, Township, the daughter of Martin and Elva (Caskey) Anderson. Doris owned and operated Gregory Beauty Salon for nearly 50 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Pinckney and enjoyed traveling, quarter horses and her grandchildren. On September 27, 1947 she married John ’Jake’Donohue, and he preceded her in death in October of 1996. Surviving are her daughter Judy (Robert) Williams of Gregory, six grandchildren, John (Rachel) Sweet, Patrick (Teri) Sweet, Michael (Jessica) Sweet, Shon (Sarah) Williams, Scott (Laurie) Williams and Robin Williams, and 9 great grandchildren. One brother, Robert Anderson of Webberville, and three sisters Sena Anderson of Owosso, Elizabeth Presinger of Mason and Alberta Holbrock of Owosso. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John Donohue in 1968, and two brothers, Clayton Anderson and M.G. Anderson. Funeral services will be Tuesday August 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church, Pinckney with Rev. Father Kenneth Coughlin presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Age 51, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2006 at his home. He was born on September 20, 1954, in Stockbridge, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Carrie, his parents Dorsie and Edna, and three brothers, Earnest, Gordon and Jack. Surviving is his wife, Terri, his son, Chase, two sisters, Joan (Ron) Angonese and Rhonda Onderdonk of Ann Arbor, and two brothers, D.J. (Penny) Carpenter of Florida, and Larry (Vera) Carpenter of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea with Parson Billy Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
George Edward Hardy

Age 82 died at the Sunrise Care Facility in Ann Arbor on August 4, 2006. HE was born the son of Webster and Leah (Green) Hardy on June 16, 1924 in Ypsilanti, MI. On December 29, 1944 he married Maxine J. Borusch and she survives. Mr. Hardy worked at Paul C. Chapman and Son in Ypsilanti for 35 years. In 1988 he and Maxine moved to Lincoln. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family. Along with his wife he is survived by his children; Judy (Bruce) Park of Chelsea, Janice Coon of Ann Arbor, Jim Hardy of Ann Arbor, and Jane Wollard of Ypsilanti. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Robert (Theresa) Coon Sr., Michael Park, Jennifer (Dr. Julius) Few, Heather (Jeff) Gauntlett, Lisa (Derrick) Dabbs, Jack Coon Jr., and Zac Coon; great grandchildren Robert Coon, Kaden Coon and Miles Few. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters; Clark (Delphine) Hardy John (Margaret) Hardy and Clifford (Carol) Hardy; his sister Nelva Whitt and his sister-in-law Beualah Hardy. George was preceded in death by his parents and brother Edgar Hardy. At the request of George and his family cremation has taken place with a private family service. Age 45, died Tuesday morning August 1, 2006 at University of

Michigan Hospital. He was born May 29, 1961 in Royal Oak, Michigan.

The son of Anthony M. and Nancy J. (Judy) Godin Bach. Mark is survived by his wife JoAnn M. Kassmann, whom he married in Chelsea on June 21,

1996. Mark had been a resident of Chelsea for the past ten years. Mr. Bach was the manager for inside sales at KSS Enterprises in Jackson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and antique boating. NASCAR and his computer were favorite pastimes. Mark was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea. Surviving in addition to his wife, are two children Angie Bach and Anthony Bach of Dexter; his parents of Troy, Michigan; his brother Mike (Ellen) Bach of Chelsea, two sisters; Margaret Bach of Troy, Michigan and Mary Alice (Dave) Misz of Sterling Heights; five nephews and one niece. Also surviving are his mother and father in law, Joe and Ann Kassmann of Rochester Hills, Michigan and Mark’s former wife Diane Bach of Dexter. The funeral mass will be held Friday August 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea with Rev. Dr. William J. Turner officiating. The Vigil will be held Thursday Aug. 3 at 8:00 PM at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home; where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery Chelsea. Expressions of sympathy may be made to an educational fund for Mark’s two children.
