
Lyn Yarows
of Dexter
Beloved wife of Steven A. Yarows, M.D. and dear mother of twin children Kevin E. and Kristen C. Yarows, died Tuesday morning, September 26, 2006 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 2, 1955, the daughter of Edward J. and Wilma Worden. Lyn moved to Michigan in 1980 to continue her nursing career and shortly after married Steve in Dexter on September 22, 1984. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dexter where she had been a religious education teacher and mentor. Lyn will be remembered as an active community volunteer and a proud member of the Steeler Nation. Currently, Lyn was serving on the Boards of the J.C. Banfield Foundation and the Education Foundation of Dexter. Surviving are her siblings Suzanne (Bob) Fagan of Wildwood, New Jersey, Kathy (Mike) Gandley of Ypsilanti, Bernard Worden, and Ed (Debbie) Worden of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by nephews Jesse Gandley and Daniel Schurgin. Lyn was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marguerite Worden. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Sept. 29, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dexter, with Rev. Brendan J. Walsh and Rabbi Robert Levi officiating. The family will receive friends at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, 901 North Main Street, Chelsea on Wednesday from 6-8p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. with the Wake at 7:00 p.m. Friends will also be received at the church on Friday from 9:00am until 10:00. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the J. C. Banfield Foundation, American Lung Assoc., Chelsea Community Hospital, Cat Scan Program or St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund. Those who attended and those who could not are invited to continue to celebrate Lyn’s life at a luncheon at Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor beginning at 12:30 Noon Friday.
